On 25-27 June 2018, at the headquarters of the Sunni Endowment Diwan in Baghdad, the Federation took part in an international conference on moderation and middle stance, at the invitation of the Diwan’s presidency. The conference discussed the post-ISIS phase through the following themes: “role of the religious institution in shielding the society against extremism”, “correcting misconceptions and its role in countering extremism”, “social environment and its impact on fighting terrorism and extremism”, and “role of governmental institutions and civil society organizations in post-ISIS impact”. The FUIW was represented in the conference by Dr Abdelilah Benarfa, Supervisor of the FUIW General Secretariat.
