The Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) will hold its 7th General Conference at the Headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco, on 13-14 February 2017.
During this session, the Conference will discuss the Report of the Federation’s Executive Council, the Secretary General’s Report on the Federation’s Activities between the 6th and 7th General Conference Sessions, and the Secretary General’s Financial Report and Study of the Financial Situation for the Years 2013-2015.
The Conference will also examine the Draft Action Plan and Budget for the Years 2016-2018, the Project of “Integrated Programme for Strengthening Exchange and Cooperation among Member Universities”, the Project of “Performance Measurement Mechanism for the Universities of the Islamic World and its Implementation Road Map” and the Project of “the Islamic World Observatory of Science, Technology and Innovation”.
By the same token, the Conference will review the Draft Amendments to the Federation’s Charter and Financial Regulations and the FUIW Executive Council’s Rules of Procedure, elect the Executive Council Members for 2017-2019. In addition, the Conference will endorse the appointment of the FUIW’s Secretary General and adopt the Member Universities and Higher Institutes admitted into the FUIW between the 6th and 7th Sessions of the Conference.
On the second day of the Conference, two roundtables will be organized on the themes “Cooperation and Partnership for Developing Joint University Action” and “Financial Sustainability and University Institutional Performance”.
It is worth mentioning that the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW) was established in 1987, works within the framework of ISESCO, with 314 Member Universities and Higher Institutes.
For the record, the Federation’s 21st Executive Council was held in Doha, capital of the State of Qatar, in November 2016.
