The 2016 FUIW Prize for Research Papers on the theme: “Terrorism – Today’s Plague: Causes and Academic and Intellectual Solutions” was awarded to the winners, today morning, at the close of the opening session of the 7th General Conference of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World, held at the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO).
In the category dedicated to researchers, the first winner was Dr Ibrahim Mohammad Al Maiman, Vice-Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University for Scientific Institutes Affairs, whereas the second and third places went respectively to Dr Ali Faiz Al Shehri, Vice-Rector of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, and Dr Ibrahim Ahmad Mohamed Sadiq al Karouri, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Omdurman Islamic University in Sudan, Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the university.
As for the research category, the Secretariat of the Programme of Research Chairs at the Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University won the first place; Dr Ali Bin Ahmad Al Subaihi, and Dr Hayfa Tayssir El Bokai from the Faculty of Education at Taibah University, ranked second; while the third place was awarded ex aequo to Dr Nasser Mohammed Al Hoiml, President of the Institute for the Studies on Scientific I’jaz in Quran and Sunnah at Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, and Dr Abdulaziz Falh Ibrahim Al Osail, Professor of Teaching Methodologies of Sharia Science at Al-Ahsa Sharia Faculty, Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.
The ceremony was chaired by Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, ISESCO Director General and FUIW Secretary General, Dr Suliman bin Abdulah Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University; President of the Federation’s 6th General Conference of; Chairman of the Executive Council, and Dr Jamila El Moussali, Acting Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Executive Training of the Kingdom of Morocco.
